Great breakfast options! I highly recommend the avocado toast. The banana blueberry oatmeal was really tasty too, not too sweet. Portion was on the smaller side though. The Latte was really good, too. The location and atmosphere of the restaurant (very close to the water, with Bay views) is a real highlight!
Without a doubt, this was the absolute best dinner of our entire coastal road trip from San Diego to Monterey! The experience was spectacular from the second we walked in. The service is truly next-level—the host was incredibly accommodating and even greeted and seated us using our last name, which made the evening feel so personalized and special. We eat a very specific "seafood vegan" diet, and the staff was completely on top of it, knowing exactly how to cater to our preferences without missing a beat. The food was phenomenal. We had an amazing spread including beautifully cooked mussels, tender grilled octopus, a fantastic seafood tostada/flatbread, and some perfectly roasted Brussels sprouts. We capped it all off with a decadent brownie and ice cream dessert that was out of this world. To top it all off, the atmosphere is unbeatable. We started our dinner watching the sunset through the massive dining room windows and finished our drinks looking out over the moonlit ocean on their gorgeous waterfront patio. If you are anywhere near the Monterey/Pacific Grove area, this place is an absolute must-visit. Highly, highly recommend!
Went to have dinner with my family to celebrate my niece’s graduation. Excellent food and service, and absolutely stunning views and hospitality. The overall atmosphere is great. Definitely a restaurant to frequent for a special occasion or a casual night out.
A beautiful scenic restaurant in Monterey. The food had a great selection of various seafood and grill items and all reasonably priced too. The table set up was perfect for otter and seal spotting and a general chill out vibe overall. The food was great quality and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend
Really great experience from start to finish. Something on the menu for everyone. Fun wine list. All service team members cared for our experience despite the volume. It is easy to see someone at the top cares. Make sure to make a reservation. Justifiably busy for a reason. Keep up the good work.
We had a lovely time celebrating a birthday. Though we did not have a reservation for a party of nine, they were kind and patient with us and the wait was not too bad (35 minutes). Dean was our waiter and he was attentive.
The Monterey Seafood Omelet was beautifully executed and came generously packed with sweet, fresh crab and shrimp, while the Two-Egg Breakfast was exactly the kind of comforting staple you look for in the morning, right down to the incredibly fresh sourdough toast. Snagging a table right by the water on the outdoor patio offered an unmatched, scenic ambiance that instantly elevates the meal. The hospitality was excellent—highly attentive and perfectly paced, especially given that we had the outdoor deck entirely to ourselves. This spot is perfect for travelers or locals looking for a premium coastal breakfast with a view, and we will absolutely be back.
This is a beautiful restaurant right next to the water. They also have heaters so you don’t get cold while dining next to water. We ordered halibut fish, chicken, buttered pasta and seafood platter and they were all very delicious. Our waitress was Rebekah and she was very nice. And there was a sea otter very close by in the water, it was fun to watch that while eating.
I treated myself to dinner here to carb load before the Big Sur marathon and omg, it was everything and more. Service was amazing. I was seated quickly indoors with an ocean view. Waiter came by promptly with a menu and water. I got a drink to treat myself and ordered the gnocchi and burrata. Then treated myself to their cheesecake with coffee and it was just superb. I would absolutely recommend this place for a fancy fine dining experience.
Schooners exceeded every expectation and was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The oceanfront setting is absolutely stunning, and every dish was as beautiful as it was delicious. The seafood tower was incredibly fresh, the grilled octopus was tender and packed with flavor, the scallops were perfectly cooked, and the mussels in the coconut curry broth were impossible to stop eating. Even the warm focaccia was outstanding. To top it all off, the staff surprised us with a thoughtful anniversary dessert that made the evening even more special. Between the exceptional food, attentive service, and breathtaking views, Schooners delivered a truly memorable dining experience. We can't wait to return. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
